Two separate unknowns. On access: no site plan or plot boundary was published for the North Al Bahyah housing project, and Sobha's 38 million sq ft Al Bahia waterfront city is a larger and more plausible enclosure driver, but its boundary is unsourced too. The newest ground evidence is satellite imagery from February 2025 showing open shoreline. On swimming: Abu Dhabi Police and DMT designated the stretch from Bahr Al Bahia to Al Shalila as prohibited for swimming in June 2025, which would apply to a dog in the water as much as a person. Ten-second check on site at plus code GJRF+9VP: is the sand hoarded off, and is there a no-swimming sign?

Under Federal Law No. 22 of 2016 several breeds are classed as dangerous animals nationwide, so check the UAE banned dog breeds list before you travel. The beach season runs October to April — outside it, go at sunrise or after sunset, and read up on hot sand and paw safety, because sand can burn paw pads within seconds. Press the back of your hand to the sand for five seconds: if you cannot hold it there, your dog cannot walk on it. Pack for the heat using the dog beach gear list, and assume a leash is mandatory unless this page says otherwise.
